Forgiveness allows you to return to who and how you were before the injury.
At first you will wear armour, next you will think you have dropped your guards entirely only to find defences where you once were soft. You will want to drop those guards too but it won’t be easy to know for sure if it is safe. You will wonder if it is wisdom to keep them up. You will call your guards “knowing better” and in part it will be true.
Trouble is that often you will miss the lovely thing that you once believed in before the injury. You will expect too much from people but eventually you will know it is Time to go deeper.
Perhaps it was never about trusting others and forgiving others but instead it was about trusting yourself and forgiving yourself.
You see, that injury….. perhaps it wasn’t really that bad. And so while your maturity teaches to not blindly trust others, can you consider to love openly and trust yourself that no matter what happens and no matter how many times you fall… you will always get back up?
Perhaps it will be the hardest thing you ever do but I have a feeling that it will be worth it to Walk forward with the wild love and sweet compassion of a child.
Life is short and Love is all we got at the end of the day💛
